| Over recent months, as the campaign season move forward, be proud that you supported Fresh Momentum for our City – never settling for anything less. My hope is that the city continues moving forward concentrating on Higher Education in Leander, plans for a comprehensive strategy to address local Job creation, creates a Green building initiative, pushes forward for a comprehensive recreation facility for all Leander residents, establish local health care access in Leander and recognize the needs of families, and small business owners in Leander. These areas must remain top priorities in our city as they will not only create more local jobs and security but will also create decades of long lasting opportunity for Leander As I personally transition off the City Council, all of these areas will now need new City Council leadership. Challenge individual City Council members and the Mayor to personally and selflessly advance and champion these causes. Encourage your council to do more, to put their name and position on the line for these causes; we must retain focus on advancing these causes – we have come too far on them, and you deserve no less. The backbone of success is hard and intelligent work, please remind your council to remain humble and work hard to advance your Quality of Life. JOBS, Higher Education, Green Building, Financial Stewardship, Recreation access, a Professional City Staff, Small Business support, Respect and Honesty, take personal pride; yet remain humble, on the issues you stood firm on for Leander. Let’s move forward, in fact let’s never stop pushing for Fresh momentum – we deserve no less. I have held a progressive vision, and I used firm self discipline to do things the right way each and every time – without fail. In this scope, please always remain optimistic – our City’s future is bright and you have helped set a professional business standard for conduct and results. For whomever you may now support in the June Mayoral and City Council run-offs, please vote, let democracy ring, and let your voice be heard. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you for 8 years, it has been my pleasure. As is often said for this type of situation – please know that…I am not sad my service is over, I am happy it happened. You offered me your trust; I am Grateful – Thank You Leander. I have had the pleasure and honor to serve our City over the past 8 years on boards Commissions, City Council and as Mayor Pro-Tem,thank you for this honor – it has meant more to me than you know. To my wife, and past and present supporters, volunteers, and friends, Thank you. Take pride in knowing that over the past many years we have advanced the cause of, and moved, higher education to Leander. Because of our work, we will realize a college campus in Leander in the not too distant future. Over the past years we have promoted and advanced police, fire and public safety needs moving these areas to become steady hallmarks of our City’s maturity. You stood for advancing the cause of health care in Leander as well as supporting recreation access, long term water attainment and family and personal responsibility and values. Please know that, because of your support and our professional City staff, Leander has risen to new heights of prominence and will continue to lead by innovative example. |
